I've been wanting to go to the beach recently. For someone living in Legazpi City, you will be surprised that for anything water-related, I would still want to go somewhere far like Sorsogon, when in fact, we are living in the bay area. Embarcadero is just a few kilometer from the city. But ehhh, you know.. Embarcadero is a port area and you can chill by the port but it's not really advisable to go swimming there.
So imagine my delight when I heard about Pinarik Eco Resort. Ah, at last, water. I thought to myself.
Come on in! Good times awaits!
My first impression is that the area was well-planned. The cottages are lined around, with nice looking palm trees above. The pool is wide enough to accommodate about 50+ pax (for people without space issues) at one time. There is a 2ft area for the kids, which is in the middle of the picture. There is 3 ft, 4 ft, 5ft and 6 ft area. Cottages and umbrellas can be rented for the day.
This play area is cute for babies and children and grandmothers. At the back of my mom is the 2ft portion, which is safe for little kids. But of course, under direct strict adult supervision.
There is a bar in the area but currently there is not much going on in there. A few cold beers, few snacks and that's it. I think you should bring your own food, especially when you have kids with you.
In that bar area you can hold parties that can accommodate around 50+ people. Maybe more depending on your preference.
A huge pogi point is that their rest rooms are well maintained and clean. There is a lot of showers inside so there would be no problem for a lot of people needing it simultaneously.
You can see the rates of entrance and rental fee of umbrellas and cottages in this picture. As for food, it is ok to bring your own food inside. There is not much food you can buy inside so better prepare. You won't be charged no matter how much food you bring inside. Also, abide by the pool rules for everyone's safety.
How to go to Pinarik Eco Resort?
Pinarik Eco Resort is not too far from the national highway. Go to Rizal St, the main street that connects Daraga and Legazpi City. The landmarks are Albay Pilinut and Ago Medical School. To go there, you can take the Legazpi City-Daraga jeep plying that route. If you're already in that area, look for Tandang Sora St in Brgy 9 - Pinaric. From there you can follow the signs.
For the ultimate convenience, rent a self-driven car to go to Pinaric Eco Resort and around Legazpi and Bicol area. You can call us at:

Enjoy your family time!
Misibis Bay is a nice pretty "soshal" haven 1 hour from Legazpi City, Albay. Lots of weddings are held in this resort hotel because of the tasteful sophisticated ambience, being cradled by a beautiful cove. Going there is a treat itself with its winding road and beautiful scenery. It used to be very difficult going to Misibis Bay. You would make sure you ride the coach going there with a schedule.
It would be so much nicer if you can drive on your own pace with your family and loved ones and make kulit along the way. You can stop along the way to enjoy the stunning Bicol vistas or just weewee near the bushes if you can no longer take it anymore. Just kidding."

1. Get early flights in (6:15 AM) and late flights out (2:15 PM).
Cebu Pacific flies to Legazpi very early in the morning. It buys you more time and gives you almost a full day in Legazpi City, thus you can see more and do more!
2. If you're planning to do ATV, do it in the morning right after your arrival.
Do this adrenaline-pumping ATV adventure to the green lava wall while the sun is still down and the sun is still not scorchingly hot. The facility is already open at 5am. The standard rate is P1500 for 2-3 hours of crossing small rivers and rocky areas of the galley but there are cheaper options too depending on the amount of time and kind of vehicle to be used. This is truly a one of a kind adventure that one should never miss when you fly down!
3. Take cool photos at Cagsawa Ruin. This is the most photographed icon of Albay. Makisali ka na rin sa mga trick shots!
4. Go caving at noontime at Hoyop-hoyopan Cave. The heat during the day had been really crazy these days. It must be the climate change. Be good to yourself and hide from the heat if you can! Opt to discover stalactites and stalagmite formation while the wind is blowing inside the cave. Hoyop-hoyopan comes from the Bicol term 'hoyop' which means to blow - a word that describes the cool, soft murmuring wind in the cave which sounds like a refreshing break from the summer heat, right?
5. Have an authentic Pinangat breakfast or lunch. When in Bicol, eat something Bicolano's eat. Take a trip up to Camalig and taste the famous Pinangat cuisine. Pinangat is a nutritious vegetable dish whose main ingredient includes shredded gabi leaves, a bit of red ginger, tiny shrimps or a slice of salted fish or pork.

I promised myself that from this point on, I will be writing about our adventures in Weekend In Bicol. My name is May, and this is a startup that I am slowly building from the grassroots using the least resources possible. I run the show, or technically speaking, I do the tour-guiding but I am also the nuts and bolts inside. I do the web CSS and HTML if needed, I do the designs. I respond to inquiries. I think of marketing strategies and I analyze data from the traffic we receive. Oops, in the next few months, I will also be the driver haha!
And like a real human being, my heart skips a beat when a mere email turns into customers. And when they turn into friends, it's just one of the best feelings in the world. No, we're not that rich but we are running continuously in the hopes that someday we will get the magic combination. Me and my team are still far from being perfect but the intention is there to be the go-to team when you mention the phrase Bicol tour packages.
If you've been one of our customers before, we would like to know how we can improve our services so we can reach our full potential. If you're planning to spend your Weekend in Bicol with us, let's have great adventures!
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with SMS/Viber/Whatsapp at +639163895231.
Last Monday, i got a message from 3 guys that made me tear up a bit, haha! We appreciate every single love we got from you! There is nothing more important for us than knowing you had a wonderful and hassle-free weekend in Bicol. For us, it's mission accomplished but that doesn't keep us from making improvements along the way. ♥
I started to rediscover the pleasure of traveling when I landed a job that could feed my passion for it. The term is "rediscover" because I always knew it was in me and I just didn't have the means when I was a student and not yet making my own money.
When I was a kid, the roaring of the engine of the bus going to the next town was enough to fill me with joy. The green rural scenery passing by, aboard the bus, was like a church, a place where I always find God because of the serenity and peace it brings forth to my soul. I guess you could feel that too, that's why you're here and reading this blog.
I am aware that we are all travelers inside. We love to explore places, if only we are not limited by financial and time resources. For some people, it is to escape the drudgery of the 9-5 life. For some, it is the drum that keeps beating in their hearts and there's no way to deal with it but go. For some it means rest, for others it means adrenaline. For me, it means both.
With the advent of promo fares from local airlines, traveling has been democratized that every Juan could already fly without breaking the bank. They offer great value to everyone who wants to get away and take a breather, even for just one weekend. This idea was way impossible when I was a kid. When I was a kid and I saw an airplane taking off, it always brought a weird pain in my heart, because I knew at that time we will never be able to afford flying. I’ve always thought they were only for the rich. Cebu Pacific changed that and there’s great value to it. Now every Juan can fly.
With that same idea of giving value to people, I wanted to give travelers like me the chance to see Albay in a much more affordable and flexible way that would not break their bank. It's not unusual to be ripped off when you travel. Now every Juan can enjoy Albay and see the majestic Mayon Volcano and the equally fantastic neighboring towns. This is the reason why Weekend In Bicol was born with the affordable packages.
It’s a package designed by a traveler for fellow travelers.
